Expressing our faith in worship
We value …
our worshipping traditions, history and buildings whilst also embracing new ways of being church.
Our vision is …
to ensure our traditional services are accessible to all, and to offer a variety of worship that enables everyone to engage with God whilst also making buildings fit for purpose and mission.
Christians often differ on the most appropriate or authentic way to express praise to God. Many forms of praise are mentioned in the Bible, among them confessing, singing, shouting, standing in honour, kneeling, dancing, making a joyful noise, testifying, playing musical instruments and raising hands. The best style of worship is the one that most authentically represents your love for God, based on the background and personality God has given you. We are all different, there is no “one-size fits all”.
Here at the Seven Towers we want to have various styles that mean worship is accessible to everyone. We have introduced Morning Prayer twice weekly, and a Worship Together benefice service every month.
We want to hear from you as we continue to develop this value, but some ideas we are already exploring are:
a worship team across the benefice
more benefice services
Songs of Praise services
a benefice choir
Café style church
a variety of traditional and contemporary worship resources for team-led services
What skills and talents are needed to be part of the team growing this vision?
a love of worship and a longing for God’s presence
being creative, flexible and imaginative
ready to think ‘out of the box’
