Our Benefice regularly responds to the needs of people across the world. Find out more here. We see that our mission must not just have a local focus – we all live in a global village and our gaze also needs to stretch far beyond our immediate surroundings.

Norton has been instrumental in organising some of these, partly inspired by a close link (including exchanges) Norton church and Norton school established with communities in rural western Kenya for about 15 years (we still keep in touch!). That relationship led to others, like the Benefice Harvest of Tools and, on three occasions collections of thousands of items of clothing and other items for Syria. Norton church looked very different when full of boxes all filled (and packed) by members of our worshipping and wider communities. Read a brief summary from one of our collections here. All these initiatives involved practical support by giving appropriate items, but also a recognition that we want to boost people’s self esteem and dignity. Most recently, in 2025, Norton instigated a Benefice collection, as part of our harvest celebration and thanks)  for the charity Smalls for All. Read about it here.
